On Thursday May 19th, Michael Driver a Broker Associate at RE/MAX of Greensboro, “Went To Jail” for the fifth straight year to collect donations and support the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
Michael spent the past month reminding all of his friends and colleagues about the MDA event and unselfishly gave of his time on Thursday making phone calls and collecting donations for the MDA.
His tremendous efforts raised over $1700, which is enough to send two kids to Camp Carefree this summer. Over the past five years Michael has helped raise approximately $7000.
Asked why he felt compelled to do this, Michael said, “I started after my daughter was born; I felt lucky that my child was a healthy little girl and felt that there must be something I could do for other folks who maybe weren’t as fortunate as I was. Plus I know folks who have ALS and other degenerative muscular diseases personally who get help from MDA. It always feels good to help other people and I have always believed that since I can’t give a lot of money, I can at least give of my time. Plus, if there’s one thing I know how to do, it’s work a phone.”
“RE/MAX Associates have a long history of giving back to the community and to charity work locally and nationally, and we are extremely proud of the work Michael does with the MDA,” said Lisa Bennett, Broker/Owner of RE/MAX of Greensboro.
